Homelessness In America is a free Cambridge directory. We hope you find our list of soup kitchens, food banks and food pantries helpful. If you can help, there are currently a tremendous number of nonprofits in Cambridge in need of donations, supplies, and especially volunteers.
We are constantly building the most complete list of resources. Many people and soup kitchens, food banks, and food pantries are in desperate need of assistance. If you can donate or volunteer, please use the contact information we have listed for each organization. If you are in need of assistance, we have also compiled an exhaustive list of local resources.
Before Visiting Your Local Food Bank, Soup Kitchen, or Support Center:
- Do contact them using the contact information we have provided.
- Do have a pen, pencil, computer or something in order to take notes.
- Ask the name of the person you contact, use it, remember it or make a note.
- Be courteous at all times. You can get a lot more help from someone who knows you appreciate their help.
- Please understand with the economy being the way it is many organizations are in desperate need of donations and volunteers.
- If they are full and have a waiting list, please do get on their list. You never know, you may just need their services later on.
- If they are unable to help you there, do ask if they know of any other resource available in the area.
- Be sure to thank the person you speak with. They are often underpaid, if they are paid at all. Also, they are more likely to remember and help you next time.
